⚠️ Important Warning

Never use mods in GTA Online! Using mods online will result in a permanent ban from Rockstar Games. These mods are for single-player mode only.

Prerequisites

System Requirements

  • • GTA V (Steam, Epic Games, or Rockstar Games Launcher)
  • • Windows 7/8/10/11 (64-bit)
  • • At least 2GB free disk space for mods
  • • Administrator privileges on your computer

Game Version

Make sure your GTA V is updated to the latest version. Our mods are tested with the most recent game updates.

Note: If you plan to play GTA Online, create a separate game installation or use a mod manager to easily switch between modded and clean versions.

Download Essential Tools

Required for script-based mods and trainers.

Create Backup

⚠️ Critical Step: Always backup your original game files before installing any mods!

Files to Backup:

GTA V Directory:

📁 Steam: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V\

📁 Epic: C:\Program Files\Epic Games\GTAV\

📁 Rockstar: C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto V\

What to Backup:

  • update/ folder - Contains game data files
  • x64/ folder - Contains vehicle and character data
  • mods/ folder - If it exists (created by OpenIV)

💡 Pro Tip: Copy these folders to a separate location on your hard drive or external storage.

Install Mods

Installing Vehicle Mods with OpenIV

Open OpenIV

Launch OpenIV and click "Edit mode" to enable mod installation.

Navigate to Vehicle Path

For most vehicles, go to:

x64e.rpf/levels/gta5/vehicles.rpf/

Replace Files

Right-click on the vehicle files (.yft, .ytd) and select "Replace". Choose your mod files.

Save and Test

Save your changes in OpenIV and launch GTA V to test the vehicle mod.

Common Issues & Solutions

Game crashes after installing mods

  • • Remove the most recently installed mod
  • • Check if Script Hook V is updated
  • • Verify game files integrity through Steam/Epic/Rockstar launcher
  • • Restore backup files if necessary

Mod doesn't appear in game

  • • Check if files are installed in correct location
  • • Ensure Script Hook V is properly installed
  • • Verify mod compatibility with your game version
  • • Check if mod requires additional dependencies

OpenIV shows errors

  • • Run OpenIV as administrator
  • • Ensure "Edit mode" is enabled
  • • Check if game files are corrupted
  • • Update OpenIV to latest version
